The Heart of the Community

Welcome Spaces for All

Hambledon House has been a valued support to the South Cairns area since it first opened its doors and it is still the place to go for community information, community connection, and support.

Here at Hambledon House Community Centre, there is no wrong door. If we do not have the service or intervention here you are looking for, we will do all we can to find and link you to the most appropriate service or intervention for you.

Funded by the Queensland Government. Hambledon House Community Centre is managed by Mission Australia.

About Mission Australia

Mission Australia is a national Christian charity that has been helping vulnerable Australians move towards independence for over 160 years.

Independence is something we all strive for, but life rarely turns out as planned.

We’ve learned the reasons behind a lack of independence and the ways for people to become more self-sufficient are different for everyone.

This informs how we support people by combatting homelessness, assisting disadvantaged families and children, addressing mental health issues, fighting substance dependencies, and much more.

Our team of 3,000 staff applies different approaches, inspired by Christian values. We are joined by the government, our corporate partners, and everyday Australians who provide generous support.

Together, we stand with Australians in need until they can stand for themselves.
